May 16, 2010 · Major Grubbage · 3 Comments

This variation of SOS (Shit On A Shingle), A.K.A. Chipped Beef on Toast is a healthier alternative to the traditional recipe. The Major’s recipe even takes it a step further by using low fat ingredients.

SOS A.K.A. Cream of Tuna On Toast

Prep and Cook Time: Approx. 15 min.

Ingredients:

1 can Campbell’s Healthy Request Cream of Mushroom Soup (only 2g fat compared to 2.5 g from 98% fat-free varieties)
1/2 can non-fat milk (measure in Campbell’s can)
1 7oz Can tuna in water- drained
Whole grain toast

Optional ingredients:

1 cup Sweet Peas
Salt & Pepper to taste
butter or margarine

Directions:

  1. Open cream of mushroom soup and place in small pot on low heat
  2. Stir in 1/2 can of non-fat milk

What size can of tuna? 12 or 6 ounce. And what size can of soup? And what size can of milk? How much butter? Not helpful.

That’s 7 ounces tuna in water, not 6 or 12

The rest ain’t rocket science maggot:

      * Campbell’s Healthy Request Cream of Mushroom Soup – one size fits all
      * Non-Fat Milk – comes in a box, bottle or jug not a can – read that Campbell’s label!
      * Butter – ever buttered toast? Do it to taste. Directions state “butter if desired”

You want helpful? ask Betty Crocker!

Now get down and give me 50 or you’ll be cleaning the mess hall on your hands and knees!
