Pear Waldorf Salad with Miracle Whip

August 23, 2023 · Major Grubbage · Leave a Comment

A refreshing twist on the classic Waldorf salad, this version swaps apples for juicy pears and uses tangy Miracle Whip instead of mayonnaise for a lighter, zesty dressing. Crisp celery, crunchy walnuts, and sweet grapes complement the tender pears perfectly, making it a delightful side dish or light snack.

Servings: 4 servings

Ingredients:

  • 3 ripe pears (diced, any variety you like)
  • ½ cup celery (chopped)
  • ½ cup walnuts (chopped)
  • ½ cup red or green grapes (halved)
  • ½ cup Miracle Whip
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice (to prevent pears from browning)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: Lettuce leaves for serving

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, toss the diced pears with lemon juice to keep them fresh.
  2. Add chopped celery, walnuts, and grapes.
  3. Stir in the Miracle Whip until everything is well coated.
  4. Season with a little salt and pepper if desired.
  5. Serve chilled on a bed of lettuce or as a side dish.
