Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large mixing bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, milk, and black pepper. Mix well.
Add the drained green beans and 1/3 cup of the French-fried onions. Stir until evenly coated.
Pour the mixture into a 9×13-inch baking dish, spreading it evenly.
Sprinkle the roasted almond slivers over the top.
Bake uncovered for 25 minutes.
Remove from the oven, top with the remaining 1 cup of French-fried onions, and return to the oven for an additional 5-10 minutes, or until the onions are golden brown.
Let it cool for 5 minutes before serving.
